My wife talked me into it and we ordered a new tt.
Dry weight--5600 Lbs
Tongue weight--700 lbs
What kind of mods should I do to make our RVing experience a good one.
Airbags, new exhaust, upgraded rear dif cover with synthetic fluid, tires, etc.
I would like to have better brakes but I have 26,000 miles on my truck and not a sign of judder. My brakes do feel soft sometimes and they did not do a very good job of stopping our last tt which only weighed around 3000 lbs.

1. The Bilstein shocks in the rear of my truck really helped the ride.
2. I would definately charge your gear oil to synthetic, and if you have a 2004 definately consider the PML cover.
3. Some have reported improved towing after adding the Helwig rear sway bar, but keep in mind it won't fit if you have the PML diff. cover, but it will fit over the 2005 factory aluminum cover.
4. Airbags are helpful. I think the only available units are the Air Lift, and only for 4x4s.
5. LT tires make a difference. Consider load range E even though unloaded they are a bit rougher.
A brake controller, weight distribution hitch, and sway control should be considered mandatory but you probably already have those. Have fun and enjoy your new trailer!
Air Lift bags are available for 2 wheel drive, also. I have them on my '05 XE, and they do a great job of leveling the truck when towing. With a tongue weight of 700 pounds, your nose is going to stick in the air if you don't use them or a leveling hitch.

The specs on your TT sound almost identical to ours. I'm certainly no towing expert, but I've been extremely happy with the following 'mods' for towing our TT:
Definitely switch to synthetic rear diff fluid. 75W-140 synthetic is what Nissan now factory fills & recommends. You should be able to get Nissan synthetic 75W-140 at your dealership, or can hunt around for Mobil1 75W-140 (Pep Boys seems to stock it).
I just installed the PML diff cover because it seems that the rear diff is the most failure-prone component in the Titan's driveline: PML Diff Cover Installed
This setup works great; the truck/trailer sits perfectly level, starts/stops very well, doesn't sway, and tackles hills without a hiccup.
I also have a Banks exhaust. Unless your wife is pretty tolerant (mine is), I wouldn't recommend that for towing. That said, I wouldn't trade mine for anything: nothing like dropping to 3rd and roaring past a Hemi towing a smaller TT up a grade.
I added a tranny cooler (I have the tow package).
If I were to do it again, I wouldn't waste the time...the tranny seems very happy. My added cooler has a fan that kicks on at about 180 (I believe) and it has never kicked on...never gets hot enough.
Just Added the "Air lift" Air bags, I'm heading for Loudon NH tomorrow for the
Nextel Nascar race. it will be my first time towing with them, but seems like it will
make a big difference, I have 25 ft 5th wheel w/ about 850lb of tounge weight
it really pulled fine before the bags, I can only think it going to make it better..
I'll give a report when I get back, Also got the "Brake Fix" done today, hope they
hold up this time..
I'm going to try to post some picks lets see if it works...
Nice pictures. The truck looks like it belongs in front of a TT. Enjoy the races and have a safe trip.

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
The only one I'd suggest, as mentioned already, is the switch to synthetic 140 weight gear oil in the rear if not already installed. Everything else you already have for the job. A tranny cooler is probably overkill because I towed our TT two weeks ago in stop and go traffic for hours as well as local roads and highway in 97 degree heat with the A/C on and the engine temp and tranny temp were perfect the entire haul.

I will be adding some when the truck is taken in for service.
J22 the stopping distance issue is probably due to the trailer brakes not being properly set or working. If you really want to keep stopping like the trailer is not there then an upgrade of trailer brakes to disk brakes would be the order of the day.
