I bought the extra nissan specific connector to avoid having splices. Anytime you have a splice, it's a possible point of failure in the system...
To really do it right with the factory provided universal connector you would have to solder each lead, and I didn't feel like getting into that. For $10 it's cheap insurance for me to have a splice-less system.
Then solder the connectors instead of splicing them...
My dad has this Prodigy controller in his Dodge 3500 4x4. He keeps taking it to the trailer place to have them re-adjust it. How can he possibly know if it is working correctly or not and how do we make the adjustments ourselves?
Sometimes it feels like the trailer is stopping the truck and othertimes it seems like it's not working much at all.

How did all of you mount the controller? PICS? I have mine but didn't mount it and made the cord run up and under the center console. BUT when setting it will drag the wheels and i would have to manually controll the trailer brakes while stepping on the brake pedal Simultaneously. I called DRAWTITE and they said it had to be mounted on a 0 degree to up 70 degrees to get the moment inside the box to work correctly. I'm confused but will try it again. Anyone run into the same thing?

About the only pic I have seen was under the dash above the shin of your gas pedal leg. I'm so not sure I like that location, but I too have yet to come up with a better spot.

These controllers are sensitive and need to be mounted. Titans don't have alot of spaces where we could mount them. I extended the wire and wedged the controller between the driver seat and center console next to my right thigh. It seemed to work but ill find another place for it. Ill let you know as soon as i find another location that is in drivers reach.

Here's where I put mine. It's always in view and easy reach from the steering wheel and no knee banging on lower dash.
I hadn't used that hole on the dash for any thing anyway. Pulled out rubber pad and angled the screws into the front corners so they wouldn't be seen even if I remove the controler later on. Then put the rubber pad back in. The space below holds the excess wiring out of view. I just ran the wiring between the A pillar trim and the dash.
Caution to use short screws so as to not get into your air vents.

I know this topic is a little old but What wires did you end up crimping or soldering together with the Prodigy wires? The reason that I ask is that I think my controller unit was missing some paperwork and I don't know exactly what function they are.
Here is a pic, the wiring from the factory Nissan harness is on the right, the wiring on the left is from the Prodigy.
Somewhere in TT is the information you need to connect the 5 wires to the 4. 1 wire will not be used on the Titan harness. I think it is for illumination. The other leads should have tags that tell you what their function is. I just picked out the Titan function and matched it to the prodigy function without any difficulty.
Perhaps we should start a new thread called "prodigy wires to Titan" or something like that when the next guy gets it figured out.

Thanks walleme. I am guessing it's one of the small wires that isn't used. I'll look harder for that thread.
