Big enough for a Motorcycle?

Hello,

I'd love a CC Titan, but am wondering if the bed is big enough for a regular size sport bike (mine is about 80 inches I think). I know I'd need the bed extender - but even then would there be enough room?

Anyone else put a motorcycle in the bed of the CC?

Thanks,

Manny

Is that a wheel base measurement? Measure from the frontmost part of the front wheel, to the center of the back wheel. That is the distance you have to work with. Personally, I have a trailer for the bike, but I've carried it in a few trucks may times. It will be close.

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

It will carry it with the back tire on the tailgate, which would be okay for a few times but I wouldnt do that on a regular basis. I have a KC and my bike is a Hayabusa with a 84" wheelbase and it is just short of the tailgate but I have to have the tailgate down to tow it.

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I just picked up a YZ250 and it fit in my CC... the rear tire was in split part of the tailgate and bed should be fine....

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I just picked up a KX250F today. The Titan seemed faster with the bike in the back. Well at least it looked pretty cool.

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I carry my Honda Four Fifty Four Stroke Dirtbike in the back of mine. It fits well with room to spare and the bed extender is good for all the gear around.

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I could load my KTM diagonally in the crewcab, I wouldn't even try to load my touringbike in it. I hardly ever have more than one passenger, so I went with the King cab. The back seat ends up with jackets and junk tossed in it most of them time. Wth the KC and the bed extender I can load 2 dirt bikes no trouble.

I'm trying to figure out the numbers. The 06 FZ1 (for comparisons sake only) is 84.3 inches in length, the CC bed is 66 inches I think. How does it work?

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

The Honda is fine but I don't think my Royal Star Venture would make it in back at all. I think my wheelbase is longer than the Gold Wing as well.

My long hauler....

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I have a KC, and if I put my bike in the back, the rear tire would rest in the middle of the tailgate. I don't think the tailgate is meant for 3-400 lbs. of weight for more than, say, 2-3 miles. I've thought about how to make it work and the only thing I can think of is a piece of heavy steel channel beam six inches wide, about 7-8 feet long, bolted to the bed with a good wheel chock mounted in the front, within which the bike would set. Then, there is the problem of where the (1300 lb. rated) ramp would tie in. I wouldn't trust that on the end of the tail gate with my and the bike's weight on it. Maybe a trailer makes more sense.

Re: Big enough for a Motorcycle?

I would trailer it for sure, not worth tearing them both up with an incident that can be avoided easily.
