I have the 2004 SE CC w/o BT so I do not have the extendable mirrors. I am going to but the factory BT mirrors and was wondering if anyone out there had ever changed them out? I looked for a thread on this but could not find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Remove the door panel.. It's a piece of cake once you've had to do it a few times...

Someone hit me up with a PM if you don't mind walking me through some basic towing info. All I've towed before is a boat or two. I've got an '06 king cab 4x4 SE with the towing package and I'm looking at getting a 7k# trailer to tow when I move cross country. I need some academics on basic towing stuff (hitches, weight distro and anti-sway) and figured this would be a good place to ask what I need to get. Just towing to move right now, not an everyday thing so I don't want to break the bank with a gucci setup. I just want to make sure I cover all the bases. Thanks in advance...
7k should be manageable without sway or air bags but I would still add at least one of the two for such a long haul. The hitch is the easiest to add. Equal-i-zer is a popular brand. Get a brake controller installed.
Just remember don't overload your trailer. If its a 7k enclosed then it probably weighs ~3k so you can haul 4k worth of stuff inside, secure the load so it doesn't shift. Keep the tires in the trailer aired up to the correct PSI.
BTW I have an 06 CC with Big Tow. I pull a 28' enclosed trailer with my Ftoy inside. And this is my 15th post so I can hopefully post links pictures now.
I tow a 23 foot front sleeper weekend warrior toybox. It weighs about 8500 loaded and my only complaint is not having air bags. I have a weight distributer and It is a must. The truck has tons of power to tow it but the bed of the truck rocks slightly once in a while. So Igure air bags of a thicker sway bar would help.

I tow the same trailer, and the air bags work great!!! But make sure your hitch is set-up correctly first. Which W/D hitch do you have?
Pre Air Bags..

Kroak -
I tow a 27' trailer, but heavy - 6700lbs dry. One thing to keep in mind in the tongue weight. Our trucks are rated at 1000lbs (about 20% safety cushion). You'll need an equalzing bar tow setup, probably 1000lbs bars. If you're buying new, the dealer should set all this up for you. Pay attention to "link drop" on the bars. You'll need an electronic brake controller - Tenoshia (sp?) makes pretty good ones. If your trailer has disc brakes, you'll need a controller made for these, otherwise, any controller is good. The more you spend, the more features. Have fun trailering!!
