Hi all, this is my first post. I've been searching, but have been unsuccessful in finding info on hauling my titan on a car hauler. I need to haul my titan across country behind a moving truck with a car hauler. I have a 2008 4x4 Pro series 4 Door Crew cab. The moving companies have so far said the truck is too big to use with their haulers/dollies. Any advice would be great. Thx

get a friend with a small car (the wife's/GF) and give them the info for that vehicle (read: Lie) you will have to buy tie downs as most of the car haulers don't have straps long enough to fit around a 32 or 33 inch tire. Check the trailer over well - Grease in Hubs PSI in tires etc. Remember you are totally responsible if there's an accident and with a 5500lb truck on a 2500lb car carrier it could get ugly and costly fast.
You might be able to find a local independent hauler that will run it cross country which is probably $800 on an open carrier, which could be less than cost of the car hauler and gas to take it cross-country. Good luck

Hi all, I just purchased an 07' T w/tow package, I will be towing a TT that will be at least 27' and no more than 31' (we haven't bought one yet) within the weight limits of the truck. Beyond the normal must haves like a W/D system, will I "NEED" any other equipment? If so, please give recommendations. I am not new to towing, just new to heavy towing. Thanks in advance for any/all advice.
p.s. I will be towing in the No. Ga. mountains.

Hey all, I am new to this forum. We have a few questions re: towing with our 2007 Titan CC 4x4. We are in the market for a toyhauler and are in the process of building it. I have the big tow package. Truck is stock. I was wondering which brake controller to go with and who installs them in the Phoenix area? A few people told us to take it down to "UHAUL". What do you guys think?

Hello and welcome to the site.
Many people on here will recommend the Prodigy contoller. Do a search for it and you will find plenty of info.
Hey thanks Irish. I actually found a place "Camping World" in Mesa,az that carries plenty in stock. I figured it was the to go with after reading the posts on here.

I moved from an SUV to a Titan - and found the one thing I HAD to have was an extended shank hitch 'head'. The height of the hitch receiver was about 4 inches above my prior TV, and demanded a new shank. At the same time, I went to a new brake controller (Prodigy) and the connection to the Titan wiring was simple once I found the connector (two screws to remove the lower left panel, poked around without success until I found the photo here in the Forum.)
As an editorial comment - we usually tow in "3"; fewer miscellaneous downshifts that way, and the RPMs are fine.

Thanks greyfeather, I already have two receivers from previous trucks, one is an extended and the other is normal, and you have reinforced the Prodigy, a little spendy but well worth it from what I have read. Question: You stated you tow in 3rd, is that while you are in TOW mode? I believe this is the first time I have seen 3rd gear as the primary tow gear, most post's say 4th and in T-mode.

Whoops..... call that a 'senior moment', OK? I have decided Tow Mode is of very limited value to me, and after about half of a 10,000 mile trip, I decided to forget about it..... but you are correct, the better choice for me has proven to be one gear under "D", which is, as you point out, 4.... not 3.
My prodigy controller is the basic Prodigy, not the P3, by the way. Very pleased with it.
