I am interested in buying a 5th wheel, but can not locate a 5th wheel hitch or any information that would assist me in deciding weight and length for a 5th wheel that would allow a Titan to pull a 5th wheel through Western State mountians.
Cool once I hit 1500 miles and can throw my trailer on the hitch. I'll have to chime in.

Try Pullrite for their SuperGlide 12K slider hitch made for a short box . It's fully automatic so may save a crunch with the short box trucks.
A caution here though, the Titan payload/rear axle rating limts the 5W pinweight to about 1200# or less depending on what you are carrying in the truck in the way of people and cargo. Allow increasing brochure pinweight about 50%.
You are far better off with a ball hitch travel trailer and a weight distributing hitch. Put a cap/canopy/topper on the Titan and it holds more than the pass-through storage on a light 5W. The lower profile also makes it an easier pull = better mpg.
We bought the Titan specifically as a tow vehicle. All lubes are Mobil 1 except tranny. Brakes were upgraded at first service per pre-arrangement with the selling dealer.
To date we have towed about 10K miles with a 28' TT, total load about 8500# wet, and no problems. AB-CA-AZ-CA-AB last winter and AB-IN-FL so far this winter.
A lot of mountain towing, always with CC set at 55mph and with OD and Tow/Haul engaged. Climbs most grades without dropping to 4th and only occassionally to 3rd and sometimes 2nd on steep grades of 6%+. Has never been unable to maintain set 55mph. I manualy downshift the tranny to slow on steep downhills to save brakes. We have averaged 11.5mpg with a high of 13.0 mpg and low of 9.5 mpg. (Not much better solo around town sorry to say) Have never had high temp engine or tranny.

I have a 2005 kingcab w/tow package. Am pulling a Flagstaff 30' 5th wheel with a loaded weight of about 8K lbs. I have a Husky 16K Easy Roller hitch which is a sliding type for short beds. I installed a Gibson Catback exhaust and Roadmaster active suspension on the rear axle. So far, has worked out very well. Be sure when towing, to use the "tow mode" switch and 4th gear.
Looking at a 04 Titan with towing mirrors and a hitch. How can I read the VIN no. to tell what gear ratios and other towing info this truck may have?
Check for the factory trans temp gauge in the dash...If it's there, it has the factory tow package...

So I just installed air bags on my 06 Titan. Pretty cooll! I wanted to share what my step-son came up with. He was lloking for a place to run the intake valve for the bags. He had the idea to put a compression "T" so as to connect the two bags and fill them simultaneously. Better yet, he decided to run the intake valve through one of the screw holes for the license plate and ran it through there. You can barely notice it is there and all I have to do now is unscrew the cap and fill the bags through the valve in the license plate. I thought it was pretty ingenious.
Greetings! New to the forum. Just bought a 2006 Titan yesterday. We plan to tow a 24 foot 5th wheel that grosses 6000 pds. We got the hitch in the trade, but need to find the rail mounting kit. Will these kits fit all the hitches, or are they proprietary?
We have the King Cab with 6 1/2 foot bed. Any input appreciated. I've towed a popup camper with a minivan, but this is new to me. Studying... Thanks!

Do the bags have a one-way valve on them?? That way when you corner and compress one side the air doesn't flow to the other side (back and forth like on a raft)?? I thought they were always seperated to prevent that unless part of the "nicer" kit. Sorry, I don't have a better understanding of the airbags - it just seems that if the manufacturer intended for the air lines to be connected it would be part of the setup from the beginning. Plus it would stink to lose the air pressure when needed the most.

I really need help figuring out the wiring on the towing package for the 2005 Nisson Titan. I took it to the dealer and paid 300.00 and assuming they knew what they were doing, it was a while until I hooked up to a trailer that I knew was working on other vehicles. All I get are tail lights. does anyone know the color sequence of what the wiring is? I really appreciate your help< as you can imagine this is getting frustrating. You can contact me at werhotcpl@yahoo.com
And again thanks to anyone who can help me on this.

See if any of this helps...The wire color might be different on the Titan, but the way it's wired won't:

I'm a 2 day owner of a new 2008 Titan Crew Cab 4x4 SE with tow package. I own a 2006 25'Airstream International travel trailer. Airstream is 5600lbs dry and 7300lbs fully loaded (in reality should be about 6300lbs loaded). With passengers, tongue weight and cargo the Titan should be loaded with about 1500lbs -- Titan rated at 1650lbs). Titan can pull 9300lbs. I have Prodigy brake control and Reese weight distributing/sway control hitch. Did I rush into this truck? Can it handle the job? Should I have gotten a 3/4 ton? Hope not I LOVE this truck.
