Help with aftermarket hitch

Hey yall. I just bought a Class 3 Hitch from Uhaul today becuase they had the best price i could find. I have an XE and i noticed while installing the hitch that it looks like it is prewired for an RV (7-pin female) plug. I drove all over the place today trying to find an adapter that would change the 7pin to a 6pin (my trailer) but none of the adapters that "claimed" to go from 7 to 6 worked. I was wondering if someone could help me better understand my problem... I really want to pull my new trailer.

Here's what you need:

It's around $12, I wouldn't consider that very expensive. Someone also mentioned the late model GM trucks use the same plug style, but I don't know for certain.

Re: Help with aftermarket hitch

You need the harness that plugs into into the factiry wiring like sammy posted, or this one here Adapter from Etrailer.com

And then you need and adapter to go from 7-pin to 6-pin like this one 7-6 adapter

The Nissan one was on that Courtesy page: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...ode=24340-TWCA

I believe my local dealer charged my around $12.50, so you might just be better off getting it at your dealer than online.

Re: Help with aftermarket hitch

Don't forget to add the relays under the hood to make the trailer lights and brakes work. I forget the part numbers but your dealer should know.
