wiring harness adapter problem

my girlfriend bought me an aftermarket hitch and wiring adapter,
the hitch bolted up no problems, but the wiring harness does not seem to work, it says it's for a bunch of different GM applications envoy, silverado, etc, but titan also...
I plugged the boat in and all I got were tail lights, but no brake lights or turn signals, I popped the fuse box under the hood, and it looks like there's a place for relays for blinkers, but there's no relays in them, but still not sure why there's no brake lights....when looking at the wiring setup it looks like it's the exact opposite of how it's supposed to be as far as the colors of wires matching up....anyone got any ideas?

I'm stumped

there are two relays that must be purchased to make your lights work. search the threads and i am sure you can get part numbers or a dealer will knowo what they are. might only need 1 of them if you don't need trailer brakes.
