I dont have BT on my truck. But what I want to know is how much of a diff. do the gears make? Can anyone help me with that. I tow a 27 ft. inclosed trailer w/ a honda CRX in it. All in all its prob. around 7500lbs. It tows it just fine, but im having a hard time getting it to **** into the final gear unless i get going like 78-80mph then I can slow down a little. But I sit at like 2900 RPM's and I know that is killing my gas mileage. I get 200 miles on a tank of gas when I am towing my trailer. I do have the banks exhuast system and K&N aircharging system.
You should tow in ONLY 4th. I do alot of towing and I allways tow in 4th NEVER in OD. It will not shift right in OD. Like you said it doesnt want to shift till real late. Sounds normal. I dont think that the BT makes that much difference. Just my opinion. I have alot of other trucks in the 2500 and 250 range and I would much rather use my Titan to tow 7500, 8000 lbs. I dont have the tow package and mine does fine. Just make sure you have the right size hitch on. As far as getting good MPG while towing? Give it up. Its easier to cange your budget for a little more $ than worring about MPG while towing!

Do you really need a dual sway set up? Are you having that much sway? You might want to distribute some weight. I allways go by the 70, 30 rule. Thats 70% of the weight in front and over the axles and 30% behind the axles.

Well if its just laying around then why not, Just make sure you adjust both sides the same. My dad had a double set up with his 38 foot TT he pulled with his suburban. (yup I said it right 38 foot)

I don`t know how or who determines the tow capacities of the titans, but i can safely tow more than they recommend and have done so several times. I have a `04 LE CC 4x4 with big tow and off road package that is a hauling beast. Wish i had a digital camera and the know how to use one so i could post a pic of the trailer and load on it yesterday. I rented a 16ft. trailer from nations rent that ended up being a car trailer with the ramps and trailer brakes, a pretty heavy duty trailer, 2 and 5/16" ball required. I used plywood for side boards so i could haul a 44 square roof tear off to a dumpster along with 2 pallets and about 75ft. of old gutters full of muck.. Shingles alone weigh 9240lbs. The trailer weighed at least 2000lbs.+- and the other stuff weighed approx.400lbs+-.. That is approaching 12,000lbs. and the mighty titan pulled it with no problem up and down hills here in Tn.. Common since must not go into determining the tow capacity of the titan.. Some people must try to drive loaded just like they are unloaded.. I had to sign a waiver at nations rent because the truck was not a 3/4 ton- HAHAHAHA They are funny. Did not want me to sue them if it tore up my truck- HAHAHAHA They are real funny. Must be fans of the big three makes at nations rent in Tn..

I'm sure most manufactuer will list the max. tow rating a little under what it can actauly tow. Without knowing exactly I wouldn't take a chance and tow too much over the recommended rate.
Tow too much and stuffs like this can happen. http://www.tricities.com/tristate/tr...5-27-0008.html

Ummm, Holy crap! That's one way ruin a vacation.
And I always follow the 80% rule. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
