Picking up new travel trailer tomorrow.

Well we finally decided since we had a bigger truck to sell our smaller trailer and get a bigger one. We are trading in our 02 21RBS Sandpiper for a 08 Travelstar 28SSO. We needed the extra space, planning a trip into the Smokey Mountains for the weekend of the 4th of July. We plan to stay at Creekwood Farms on the Northeast Side (Maggie Valley) If anyone has any experience with this Travel Trailer please speak up. Also if you have stayed in Creekwood please chime in. I have Big tow and the GVWR on the trailer is 7100lbs the trailer unloaded is at about 5680. I am guessing loaded we will be about 6400lbs. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow while the rig is attached. The 21' trailer is only about 4000lbs, and its like its not there while towing. I pulled that same trailer for about 2 years with a 05 frontier and I can say it pulled that without a problem. An occasional sway but nothing that a little electric brake pressure couldn't correct. I even had a blowout with it and traveled no telling how far before a big rig driver alerted me. I am hoping my experience with this trailer will be about the same.
I cant seem to post a URL (until I post 15 or more) but a google search for 28SSO will show you the trailer sorry.

Re: Picking up new travel trailer tomorrow.

no problem towing that. I have a 2005 4x4 kc with out the big tow.2 months ago i sold a pop up camper and upgraded to a 2008 outback 33 ft with 1 slide empty about 6000 pounds. i had concern about over loading my titan. with use of progidgy brake cont. and reese weight dist. with anti sway control. everything works very well together. a friend of mine has the same truck with big tow and a 27ft springdale. he can't belive how well it works compared to his old f150 night and day. I towed last weekend 10 hours to and from with about 8000 pounds loaded, after getting all adjustments made to hitch and sway i had no bounce/sag/sway nothing up to 85mph bad news 8 mpg.but truck works way better than i could have expected. this truck has impressed me for almost 3 years now and after last week i did it again.

Congrats and good luck with the new trailer. The Titan will tow it like a dream.
