PRG 2" lift and towing

I tow a 7000# load with my 04 2wd and it sits pretty level when loaded as opposed to butt up unloaded. If I install the front 2" lift will the front point skyward when I tow? Does anyone have experience particul;ar to this issue. IMO nothing looks more incapable than an *** low towing vehicle.

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

I have the PRG leveling kit on the front. Mine looks very *** low when I'm towing a heavy trailer. My new equalizer hitch may solve that problem, but I think airbags are the only real solution to that low rear.

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

I'm 2WD and tow a 27 ft TT. I have the 2.5 on the front and the 1" block on the rear. I'm maybe slightly when hooked up. I do have a weight distributing hitch and have it adjusted only visually as of yet. I have'nt had time to put it on the scales and see how "distributed" the weight really is. I put that block on the back specifically for the towing. I don't want the rear to squat either. When I hook for the trip this weekend, I'll see if more tension will level out the truck. If not? Yup. Bags will come!

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

OK great. I suspected that it would change the equation a little.

thanks

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

I had the same issue. Air Lift rear airbags quickly solves the problem, and you can level your truck no matter how much tongue weight you are carrying.

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

After the trip this weekend, I really can't put more torque on the W/D hitch. Here's a pic. I'm on a 2.5" front, 1" rear. Trailer is about 6000 lbs all told in this pic, with about 1/2 tank of gas, and about 200 lbs of stuff in the bed. I really don't think it's butt is drooping. What do you guys think? Not the best angle, but it's the best one I have from the side like this.

Re: PRG 2" lift and towing

As well as I can tell from the picture and the description, we would be similarly set up. It looks fine from that angle, THis is the oonly picture I have of what I tow
