aftermarket overhead rack for utili-trac racks

i've seen a couple of pictures of overhead racks some folks have installed. i'm about to make the plunge on a defender rack for my overheads. what mount kits are recomended (used by others) i see yakima makes a mount kit for their rack (it's only 39" wide, i'm looking for a rack thats as wide/long as the bed). any yak users, do you think your mount kit is adaptable to other rack systems. also if you ran lights, how did you run your wire. i'd like to learn from others.
