The air bags are a great addition. It is so nice to just press a button and have the rear end go as high as you wish. I have the air compressor mounted up in the front fender area and put the switch and air guage inside the console between the front seats. If you load the cargo differently and it squats a bit more (or less) it is helpful to be able to level it within seconds.

Never heard of this big tow rear springs. The Off Road package has the same gear as the Big Tow, so if you have that, you're set. I think the only other major Big Tow feature is the tranny gauge. Never heard of the ECU difference either.
Someone that has an 06 Big Tow could easily take a photo of the rear springs and post it here to prove this case.
There is no difference in the rear springs on the big tow.

My non-BT o4 King-cab XE tows just fine. I applaud your determination, but I would heed the advice of others and not swap out the axle or gears. The ECU is programmed for a reason and any dorking around with it, may cause some issues.

Have I seen you around Broadway and Wilmot?
Probably. I was up that way earlier today. I go to Park Place all the time.
I really don't have any intention of completing the BT conversion, I've got the two things that matter most. It would just be incorrect to say "BT conversion complete"

This is the first I've heard of heavier rear springs on the 06 BT. If they are out there I definately need them for my 05. I've got 7 washers on my equalizer hitch and the rear end still sags. I was looking into adding airbags, but I'd rather upgrade the springs.
Mitch
What kind/brand hitch? Type of bars?
Could be a few things. Do you know your actual tongue weight? Mightbe more than you think. Are your weight distribution bars rated for the tongue weight of your trailer? For example, if your dry tongue weight is 600lbs and you buy 750lb bars, you have the wrong bars. As soon as the trailer is loaded up for a trip your tongue weight wil most likely be at or above the 750lb rating. My dry tongue weight is 550lbs and I run 1000lb bars and when loaded my rig sits nice and level. I am using 7 washers and using 4 links off the snap up brackets. I also run the dual cam sway control.

Odometer reads [b][color="Red"]487,000 miles and I'm hoping to get 500,000.
I think it is easier to use an aftermarket transmission temp gage. I did a "how to" on this. I like the B&M brand.
I also installed a Roadmaster active suspension for about 200 bucks. It lifted the back about 4 inches and I have no sag no matter how much weight I put in the bed. The best 200 bucks spent!
You need the whole gauge cluster... I don't know where the temp sensor goes into the tranny, though.
Andrew
No, there is only one cluster. All Titans have a tranny temp gauge. If you didn't get big tow then your needle is not there and the overlay covers up the gauge.
I don't know about the sender. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one. Might be as simple as adding a needle and cutting a hole in the overlay to get the factory gauge to work.

How freaking weird. Wonder why they went out of their way to take something out, like it's that much of an incentive to upgrade as it is.

Just wanted to add, there was never any mention of heavier springs until 2006. It was not on the list of BIG TOW items for '04-'05.
That's a good price you paid AB. Now you have everything you need hitchwise. and a nice fit. I got mine at my dealer for 240 plus tax. It never hurts to look around.
I thought BT gave heavier springs, and have posted this; now I have to prove it somehow.
OK, gives me reason to reread the Nissan literature. Good for all of us to verify from original source material sometimes, so we don't mis=state things as they may have changed and we aren't aware. Thanks for your posting. I'll see what I can find on this.
