Adjustable Drawbars

Curious if anyone has had good luck with a particular adjustable drawbar/hitch mounts (those that have adjustable drop/rise)? Below is a link to an example.

I would like to have one where the tailgate doesn't hit the top with tailgate down.

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

Mine is made by "rapid hitch" and pictured below. I've got a big drop due to being lifted. Any of them should work for you though, the only way it should hit with your tailgait down is if you put it in upside down... I don't think any of them will go up high enough to hit.

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

Oh yeah--and depending on what you are going to tow, be sure to pay close attention to the weight ratings! The one I bought is expensive, but had the highest weights I could find for an adjustable drop hitch mount.

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

thanks--this is great info. I don't believe I will ever be towing more than 5000 lbs.

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

I have one by Masterlock that I use to tow my boat. It adjusts with a 3/8 ratchet or a wrench and uses a square thread screw wuth detends to hold the position. Works great and is rated to 5,000lbs max. It will not come close to reaching the tailgate. What are you planning to tow?

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

thanks smoke. I will be pulling a 4 place snowmobile trailer. Do you have a web-link to the one you have? I have never seen one that is ratchet adjustable.

Re: Adjustable Drawbars

Yeah. The one he's talking about is nice because the adjustable locations are not fixed. The are infinite between its highest and lowest point.
