well all i kno is 4 wheel Direct told me they could replace my gears and showed me the picture on their computer and the price...thats all i know (word of mouth)..dont know where they order it or anything...so thats why i figured it was easy to get that...since 4 Wheel Direct pretty much said i could...but obviously not since im a 'know it all' 18 year old....i guess we can look on the bright side...we all have pretty damn sexy trucks

Did you tell them you wanted gears for your Titan or gears for your Dana 44 without telling him it was for a Titan? Big difference there. There's also a huge difference if he assumed the Dana 44 was a standard Dana 44 and looked up prices based on that. There is a lot of ignorance in the world, never assume the monkeys behind the counter know a thing about what they sell. I don't know about 4 Wheel Direct, but the guys at 4WP are clueless.
I know there will be a LOT of happy people once there is an aftermarket source for gears, so if you do get a line on a source I'm sure you'll be many peoples' hero.

hmm no he knew it was for my titan, cuz they did the lift/wheels and tires the same day.

Now, that's all cool, I can see that happening and it does often for the Titan.
Next time a bunch of guys here call you on something, that should be a red flag to double check. Who knows maybe you stumbled onto something new we missed, but give us a little credit...
By the way, being 18 doesn't mean much to me...when I was 18 I knew everything...It's just been a little hard keeping up so that I STILL know everything!

yeah i agree that even if it could be faulty info, do post ,because it's true that you could have found a good source, especailly in the aftermarket setups, cuz the Titan's newer, so are the aftermarket products just comming out
that's my 2 cents....

Wow, how we digress from the topic. Anyway, I have a drift car also that I tow with my 04CC. I'd like to see yours and I'll let you drive my truck to get you to buy one. I am in Seattle so the drive shoudlnt be that bad.
grip as in money...waste of grip....waste of flow....or for the older guys here..waste of money...you could upgrade your gearing and put a better hitch on aftermarket....in my opinon...
whats a new rear end run? I have a 2wd XE obviously no big tow.
Well, I love the tow package, especially the mirrors. They give the best rear vision I've ever had, towing or not. I wouldn't even consider buying a new vehicle without the tow package - I've had to add the hitch and wiring and coolers etc. way too many times, and this is the first time I haven't had to.
Stronger, safer and cheaper to get it - IMHO...

Not all are monkeys...there was a time when people took pride in their job!
Dana (Spicer) 44's have been around since the 1930's...Jeep uses it today, as does Ford in Ranger rears, and the front end of 4X4's...Once it was the only rear end Ford offered.

Yup, the D44 is a great axle. Had one in my '47 Willys CJ-2A, also had a D25 up front with a Powertrax and a Bronco engine/trans (Ford 302 V8 2bbl, C5 auto mated to the stock D18 t-case). Never had a problem with either axle, but I also didn't beat them up. I do think the D44 is a hair undersized for the Titan, though having a larger-than-standard ring gear (9" instead of the standard 8.5" D44, which is why there's an issue with gears for Titan D44s) does make a bit of a difference.
All in all, if nobody is having reliability/longevity issues with the D44 when put under load relatively often then I guess it's really not undersized at all.

It is a great rear axle (4010) for what it was designed for...but the skinny rear axle shafts (4234), and bearings (1225) weren't designed for 18" wheels (1015).
Then you add Gobs of torque, offset wheels (1015) and jack the beast up...well all that plays hell with the rear end case (4204), gears (4209) etc.

I'd kill for a set but I don't have power mirrors and they only come in power. Unless some Ferd mirrors would fit.
i was a volunteer for one of the local FD's and drove around a f350 dually all day with a set of those I'm still not used to the small mirrors on my truck. what I miss the most is the blind spot mirrors.
