out tows the ford and chevys

I pull a 30x10x13ft cabin cruiser 80 miles round trip with diving, fishing, camping, boarding gear. about 7000-7500lbs at 70mph, 55-60mph up 4% grade for 3 miles with trans gauge a little above warm. i dont even use 4x4 to get it up the boat ramps. i also have put the truck up to the bottom half of the doors into the water dropping off the boat. This truck out performs all my friends' chevys and fords. no im adding to the engine just to rub it in more.

Re: out tows the ford and chevys

Welcome to the site.

If you're driving your truck in deep water, you might consider the rear axle breather mod.

Axle vent mod

That goes for any model truck...

Re: out tows the ford and chevys

You want to replace the short axle breather hose with a longer one the can be attached to the upper frame area to keep water from getting in the rear axle...I usually buy a small K&N breather filter, it has a 1/4-20 stud on top for convienent mounting, and has a 5/16" nipple to slid the new longer hose over. I'm sure Summit Racing has these...

Re: out tows the ford and chevys

Umm,
My Titan stomps all over the big block chevy it replaced, except on torque. Lower torque number is the only drawback, but doing the same chores as the Chevy did, the Titan rocks. We won't talk about the Ford. It was a different class of truck.
