Towing capacity

I read in another thread (but I can't find it to ask) that the LE and SE models without the BT can tow more than the XE without the BT. Why is that?
Steel wheels vs alloys?
extra springs?

Thanks.

Re: Towing capacity

so they all tow the same?
Is it the tires and wheels?
I read about the weight of the options, it seems like the base model having the least options and added weight would have a higher capacity...?

Re: Towing capacity

Interesting but no they can't all tow the same? I know the utility bed option lowers it a bit but I'm not sure on the differences between XE and SE/LE?

Re: Towing capacity

Nissan does have 2 different rear springs, could be part of the reason. Never seen a totally complete answer on this popular question. Ive searched this one quite a bit. Especially for the XE. ??? I got the XE BT POP and am thrilled with the total package.
