Firestone Riderite airbags installed!!!

Got my airbags installed finally and I love them I have a dump trailer that weighs 2800 lbs and I put almost 2 yards (about 3400 lbs) of river rock in the front and middle of the trailer, of course the truck sunk to the ground. Then I put 70 psi in and leveled it right out. Heres some pics.

Very nice Heli! Now all you need to do is get your truck painted so it's not primer any more. LOL

So how do the bags feel driving?

Oh Kon, Your jealous!! I only have about 5 lbs in them when I am driving around. I have found that when loaded in smooths it out alot. You dont feel the jerking with a loaded trailer.

Re: Firestone Riderite airbags installed!!!

I tow a 3.5k boat and a 7k TT. Didnt need air bags with the boat but with the TT even with the WD hitch I still had 1 1/2" of sag in the back so I added the rideright airbags. Got them from PRG. Around $200 and installed them myself in about an hour. Love these things. 10psi minimum at all times and with my TT on 40 psi and truck is level. Did a full port ball valve mod so I can fill both bags at once with the same psi then isolate them so I get no lean when cornering afterward.

ball valve in my bed locker

The kit:

Mounted:

15 psi to check for leaks over night:

Re: Firestone Riderite airbags installed!!!

I agree they do a great job. With my toyhauler they leveled the back out that I couldn't get with the WD hitch. I routed my valves inside the utility box on the bed. Guess I just don't trust people seeing a valve stem in plain sight. I keep 10 psi in mine and I think the ride is a little rougher for it. By the way Heli, UH-1N, SH-3G, UH-3A, and HH-46 maintenance and crew experiance.

I put my air valve inside my wheel well, so all I had to drill through was plastic. You can barley tell that they are in their.
