Where is the aux transmission cooler?

I see a 6" x 9" or so auxillary cooler in front of my radiator, (top, drivers side) that's not big enough to be a tranny cooler, is there another one somewhere else?

Thanks!

Re: Where is the aux transmission cooler?

I aplogize for hijacking the thread.
How much would it help to add an engine oil cooler? I tow heavily in summer at 115ºF up 6% grades, and want to help combat the heat. Can we add larger tranny coolers?

-thanks

Re: Where is the aux transmission cooler?

we have an oil cooler. Try a Stant brand 170F Thermostat from a 1996 300ZX. The tranny will like it better too.

Re: Where is the aux transmission cooler?

if the only other cooler than the radiator is that little 6" x 9" deal, then I'm gonna add another one.

I've heard some discussion that that's an oil cooler, and not a tranny cooler.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Re: Where is the aux transmission cooler?

I've seen the tranny oil cooler in the front of the radiator. I think we have a power steering and another tranny cooler in the radiator. I wanted to add an engine oil cooler to cool the engine oil. If we have one I wasn't aware.
-thanks

Oil cooler built into the base where the oil filter is.

Re: Where is the aux transmission cooler?

1. we have an oil cooler built into the base of the oil filter adapter ^^^^ see above

2. The small cooler in front of the Air Condition Condenser is the power steering cooler.

3. The transmission fluid flows thru the lower part of the radiator for cooling then up to an air cooler that is located on the passenger side between the radiator and the Air Conditioner Condenser and is not normally visible.
