Re: anyone w/ rv

I need more information but here are some things to check. How long has it not worked and has it ever worked?

1. Check the valve that is connected to it. be sure it is open
2. When "hot" there is a sender unit that will keep it on. If this is bad the valve will just stay shut
3. If electric start be sure that you have the battery power. low batteries can cause the sensors not to work. Yes you do need some power for this to work. 12VDC
4. What is the unit set to AUTO or just GAS?

ok that should help me a little more

If you have not used the trailer for a while, light the stove first. It takes gas a while to get everywhere. After the stove is going, start the frig, hotwater heater or furnace. If your frig is clicking that's a good sign.

Bummer! Stole my thunder!! This is how I fire everything up after it sitting. Get the gas flowing first so the fridge isnt sucking air.

Re: anyone w/ rv

I had the same challenge after mine sat for a few months. Luckily my bud is an RV mechanic. He said the same as already posted.

It did not work for me so he came over to check it out. He put air preassure on the gas line to clear it out I guess. That was a fix

Re: anyone w/ rv

You can also get spiders building a nest in the burner area. That happens a lot with water heaters but there's nothing to prevent it from happening to the fridge.

On one unit we had, I took it down a rough road and the fridge quit working. Turned out there was rust from the 'chimney' that the flame heats that had fallen into the burner and clogged it up.

Open the back of the fridge from the outside and check the burner area; it should be clean. Also do check for junk in the 'chimney' that the burner fires into.
