Timing advance and towing

I was looking at getting the 2 degree timing advance but I also plan on towing a lot. does anyone know if it would be ok to get the advance and also do a lot of towing?

Get it done.. It helps when towing as well.. Since I tow pretty heavy, I run 91 when towing anyway.. I have towed with 87 as well and it was fine. But, during the summer when towing I like to give the truck every edge I can.

Re: Timing advance and towing

Ditto what Derwud said. It seems to be a plus for towing, not a negative.

Re: Timing advance and towing

I have to continue with agreeing as stated above. I just recently got mine and have seen a 3-4 MPH increase up the same hills at the same rpms. The truck does not seem to work as hard with the advance now.
