You can pull a 90 degree turn ? best I can get is about 60 degree. What is distance from the front of your trailer to king-pin ?
The oscillation or "chucking" is common w/ 5ers. Airbags will help a little but look into the 5th airborn king pins. The almost eliminate this. I cannot do 90 deg, I am about were you are. I have not mmeasured that because there were no problems reported for the Titan on pullrites site or my dealer who have done a couple Titan pullrite hitches now. Also I really like my sway bars. This truck is near rock solid now w/ the fifth wheel. OZnly thing I have found w/ hooking up is make sure you get the king pin and hitch as level to eachother as possible. With the front end of the truck bieng lower this hitch can hang up and won't let go of the trailer or lock until they are pretty even. My buddy has the 16k slider and his is the same way on his dodge.

Thx !!! Do you have any chucking problem ? Have you had any issues backing into sites with only 60 degree turn angle ?

I do a little but it is at lower speeds. The only problem I have is trying to back it like a TT. Thats a no no. With how much sharper it turns even with less turning I have found longer approaches and less steering manuvers works well for me even in tight spaces. It is much different than a TT but I love it. What brand and model did you get.

Triple E 254SSXL, they are made 60 miles from were I live and the quality is top notch ! They are a little heavier because of that.

Did you look to see if you are riding on the axle bumpers, or how close they are to the frame?

The only hicup is I need to modify my mounts for the airbags a bit. They had to remove some of the brackets on the airbags for the hitch. Other than that no issues at all.

Re: New 5er set up

I have the valley rails and Reese 15k hitch for my 30.5 Jayco. Dry wt is 7350 with king pin at 1700. Firestone ride rite air bags work great. Pulls very easy with big tow and 4th grear. Get 10.2 MPG pulling mostly through the mountains. Titan does grrreat.

Re: New 5er set up

I didn't know it was possible to fit a 5th on a CC cuz the bed is too short plus the hitch should sit just in front of the rear axle. So that's not much space.

Re: New 5er set up

SWEEEEEEEET! I've looked at the pull-rite and it pretty much told me that I had no option of a 5er that I would consider....... You have proven that it Can Be Done! I understand the turn radius, as C-pillars and rear windows can get crushed. I have looked at 5ers based on their "hook" point. looking for those with the "hook" fartherest foreward.
Last week comming home from TN, I saw a KC with a 5er, and was regreting my upgrade to the CC. NO LONGER. What an inspiration............
TY!!
SUPER POST!!!!!!!!!
POST l/w/h of your Cougar please! As well as the "HOOK" point. How far forewad of the trailer is it?

Length is 28'8" width is 8' and is 11'8" high. dry weight is 7000# and dry pin weight is 1140# dry w/ 300# hitch weight (pull-rite hitch). Also as you can see in the pics ther is enough room in front of the hitch for some items such as wood BBQ etc. The "hook" point you are refering to is the point or measurement from the pin to the front of the trailer. Mine is about 8" from the center of the pin to the point on the trailer that will hit the cab. Yes you cannot go 90 deg, but I am able to get into just as tight of spot or tighter than a TT w/ this set up. Also this is part of Cougars 1/2 ton series. These are designed to be towed by trucks such as ours. Here is the wbsite. http://keystone-cougar.com/ I hope this helps.

Pic one is the frame bracket that is right under the bed. Pic 2 is the airbag under the hitch bracket and as you can see the "ears" that hug the frame are now unable to sit up there right so I am having those "ears" removed and the top of the airbag bracket welde to the bottom of the hitch bracket. There are four brackets to hitch that hold four posts inside the bed that can be totally removed. You have four approx 1 inch diam holes in the bed and they do not interfere with the utility track at all. So when you take the hitch out there are only 4 small holes in the bed. Pic three is just the other side (passanger side) airbag. All bracketry is under the bed and out of sight. The RV dealership said that short of the airbag dilema the install was flawless and very easy. Took them about 3 1/2 hrs to install. I hope this helps.
