Okay, maybe I'm a nitwit but the truck is not cooperating with me on this. I plug in the Prodigy P3 controller and think I'll just go to the plug and test each terminal for power during different operations. Ie: right turn, left turn, running lights. brakes, etc. The controller will not give me anything except, No trailer connection on the display. As I am putting a new connector on the trailer to match the truck, not having power at the connector is putting a damper on things. Does anyone have a list of what each terminal on the trucks plug is for?
I hate to try what I have deduced is correct without double checking with the board. Frying parts can get expensive as well as the fact I just don't have the time to play and play with this. The wife wants to ride this weekend and I have car shows to attend.

See what happens when you buy a real good controller? The Prodigy sends a small amount of voltage out to check the circut, because you have nothing piuged in, it thinks there's no trailer so it doesn't send a signal to activate the brakes...

Ok, I just noticed something. Right now I'm wiring up my trailer to a new 7pin socket, call me crazy but I take it nothing connects up to the 12v pin!?! These are the wires I have connected so far:
White wire - (2 of them, 1 for chasis ground & 1 for electric brake ground)
Black wire - I followed this wire to the electric brakes so I connected it to the electric brake pin
green wire - rt turn
yellow wire - lt turn
brown wire - running lights
.......and that's all there is to hook up.
**EDIT** Wait a sec, I think I just figured out what the 12v pin is for. It's if you have a rechargeable battery on the trailer for a breakaway kit, correct?
