What is the downside? It is difficult to adjust the ride stiffness? Is it something that you can easily adjust when you fill the truck with a load of stuff on the weekend and back to normal when the weekend is over?

yes it helps greatly with axle wrap

they say it won't raise you truck but mine did (then again I got the XXF kit)

The back hardly moves at all anymore, very rock solid and almost sports car like in the turns.

There really is no way to adjust the stiffness except to not pre tention the spring as much but you really don't feel it ride any rougher just better.

There really is no downside to this product that I have found as of yet.

will help you tow better, prevent axle wrap, definately a sway bar attribute and its an incredible invention.

edit: in fact I only feel it when I am cornering and it is just the sway bar attribute. I don't feel it at all in normal driving unloaded. I haven't had a chance to load it down yet to see how it feels loaded but I am going to be moving some things out to storage soon and will keep you updated.

I just purchased the MK-II XXF off of Ebay. Brand new in the box for $49.99 + $26.48 shipping. Hopefully it will be in by Friday and I can install it next weekend.

Re: Roadmaster Active Suspension = AWESOME!

Well I bought the XXF kit off of Ebay and then a friend with a 3/4 ton chevy asked if I would like to sell it. I was able to get the XF kit off of Ebay so giving up the XXF was no big deal. So for a couple of days I had both kits. When you compare the two they look identical. I had to be careful I didn't mix them up.

Yesterday I installed the XF kit on my Titan according to the directions. The install was much easier than I expected. However when I adjusted the tension per the directions it lifted the bed of my truck a little over 2.5 inches. It looked like I didn't have a leveling kit anymore. I backed off the tension from a quarter thickness to a dime and now the bed hardly sits up at all. It looks much better and drives great.

Today is the kind of day I installed this kit for. I'll be towing my boat and have 5 adults in the Titan. I'm anxious to see how well it goes.

if they were identical looking than I bet they were both xxf kits. The springs on the xf kit are much smaller than the xxf kit.

2.5 inches lifted! wow that is alot, mine didnt go up that much at the quarter height. How do you like it so far? Mine is still going strong.

Re: Roadmaster Active Suspension = AWESOME!

I like it a lot. The ride is tiny bit stiffer but it seems to react better to bumps and turns much better. It definitely tows better. We towed the boat about 40 miles yesterday and I was very happy with the new setup. I was thinking of getting airbags but not anymore.

I used to have a small thump when I accelerated from a stop light that I attributed to axle wrap. Not anymore. The roadmaster was the best $75.00 I have spent on my truck. If anybody is thinking of getting one of these I would recommend checking Ebay. It saved me over $200.

Re: Roadmaster Active Suspension = AWESOME!

Does anyone have a picture of these installed? I just got mine done and I'm not sure if the installer removed the right rubber bumper. On my truck there is a small bumper under the coil.

I dont know how he could have left it in, the coil won't fit with the bumper there! Did you get the XF or XXF kit?

Re: Roadmaster Active Suspension = AWESOME!

I installed the XXF on my '05, and love it. Just a question... Is anyone having problems with squeaks? I've got one in the driver's side rear, and it sounds like its coming from either the rear shackle or the RAS system itself. There's a TSB for a rear spring coilover fix, and I've had that done -- but the squeak is still there. Any suggestions?

I havent noticed any new squeaks at all from mine, maybe you should grease it up a bit and see if that helps.

I've read nothing but good about this system, and looked at them at the shop that had my truck last week.
Noticed that too about gas tank location, If nothing else why wasn't it put on the passenger side. Theirs always someone in the drivers seat while driving...I hope, and would have at least balanced out with driver. where its at now, you've got that huge tank and a driver on the left. Did they think we'd complain about walking around truck to fill-up???
Looking into this myself, even though its a truck, wouldn't mind something to improve cornering/handling. Is this the easiest solution and best bang for buck?

either kit should be good I got the xxf kit because I wanted to have the heavy duty one just in case. I haven't towed a thing with my truck but its nice when I haul stuff. The rear end is rock solid.

Re: Roadmaster Active Suspension = AWESOME!

Alright! I'm finally dialed in... I just installed my RAS (XL) today and it was just what the doctor ordered.

I had lowered my truck using the 3rd leaf removal method in the back, and frankly, it was riding pretty crappy. I literally felt every bump and was bottoming out constantly. I liked the low,low look, but it just wasn't functional.

After doing my homework and listening to some of you on here talk about the RAS, I though I would give it a shot. And for $55.00 delevered (Thanks for the ebay dial in Quartz), I figured, what have I got lose...

It did raise the back up about 3/4 of an inch, which I felt it needed as it was looking a little too squatty in the back. It now rides litterally 100x better than it did before. I removed the bumpstops and now it doesn't even come close to bottoming out. I guess the best way to describe it is getting (damn near) your full suspension back after lowering it. Keep in mind though, I'm not "slammed". I basically brought the front down a hair and leveled it out in the rear.

Anyway, if you are thinking about doing this, I would HIGHLY recommend it. And I would highly recommend going on ebay and checking out jmspeedcenter for your purchase. I got lucky with my price cause no one bid against me, but I have seen many go through there for 1/3 of the retail cost.

Best of luck out there. And thanks for the good advice.
