towing questions

i have an 2005 cc 4x4 non big tow the only difference if i put a class iv hitch is the gear ratio correct i had a sliverado with 3.73's and i had the same tow ratings as the one with 4.10's should i be able to tow the same amount with the hitch as one with big tow.

No, the XE non-tow even with the IV hitch is rated to tow 6500 lbs, the SE & LE are rated 7400 lbs non-tow, and 9500 w/tow...
I'm surprised your Chevy didn't have differnet tow rating for the two different ratios...most trucks do.

FYI------Don't go by the website to determine tow ratings, the Ford has them listed in their Owners manual:

SuperCab 4x2 (132.5” wheelbase)
Engine Rear axle ratio: 3.55 w/17" tires - 7600 lbs
3.73 w/17" tires - 8100 lbs

I'm sure if you check the Chevy's manual you will find the same.
Nissan's website doesn't have their whole list of ratings either.
