07 Titan KC SE with Tow PKG

New to this board and will P/U my new truck July 5th. I just wanted to know if I'm good to go on trailering a boat. Will I need to buy fuses or anything to make my trailer lights work? I have the 7 to 4 connecter. I read were people had to buy this or that but I think that was for people that added the hitch.
Also do the 07 Titans have daytime driving lights? If so can they be turned off? Questions for the dealer I guess. I drove a Titan and thought it was great. We then found one I wanted on the net. They have to go pick it up and I will take ownership on Thursday. The wife and I are excited about it.
I went in thinking there was a $3500 rebate. The dealer went to check on it and came back with a smile on his face. Told me it just went up to 5000.
So I got the truck at dealer invoice minus the $5K. Pretty cool
Thanks guys
Dave

Congats on your new truck!
You shouldn't need anything except an electric brake controller if you plan on towing a trailer with electric brakes, but if not(most boat trailers use surge brakes, no controller needed)then you are good to go...
If you didn't already know, if the trailer weight starts to get up there in weight tow in 4th gear. This helps keep the torque converter locked up which in turn keeps tranny temps down...

The owner's manual defines the break-in period for towing. (no towing for first 500mi, then under 50mph for a bit when towing.)
Day time running lights on Canadian models only.
You stole the truck. I paid list price Dec 2003.
Good luck. You will love it.

I don't have anything to add to these guys above me, but welcome to the boards and congrats on the truck. You'll thoroughly enjoy both. Your truck is ready to haul. If you've towed before it'll be a piece of cake for you. Just take it a little easy on your truck for about the first 500 towing miles.

Re: 07 Titan KC SE with Tow PKG

Thanks everyone
I feel very welcomed. Thursday is the big day. I will pick it up
after work. Wife and I are looking forward to it. I haven't had
a V8 in anything since I owned a 87 Z28 15 yrs ago. I have heard these trucks can move pretty good in stock form. I will take it easy for the first
500. I just got back from a week of fishing a month ago so no plans
to tow very far the rest of the summer. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve
right now. :-)

Re: 07 Titan KC SE with Tow PKG

Does anyone have a diagram of the location for the 2 relays required to make the trailer brakes work. While I was first looking at the site I found someone that had asked for it, but can't locate it now. If possible, please forward so that I can install properly. The local dealer sold me the parts but I can't locate any installation instructions. Thanks

It's in the relay box, right between the battery and the fuse box under the hood.

Smile Re: 07 Titan KC SE with Tow PKG

Thanks for the information. I found it exactly where you told me it was and found the diagram of where the relays go inside the control box. Information in the brochure indicated there would be only two relays required to operate the lights, but that is not the case, it requires three. :

Re: 07 Titan KC SE with Tow PKG

Here is a photo of the relays that I installed in my 07 Titan. They plug right in. The two blue relays on the left, and the one brown relay on the left are for trailer lights. I got these from a local truck parts store that installs towing packages. They charged me $16.00 for all 3. Hope this helps.
