9000lbs for 700 miles
I just moved from Enid, OK to Corpus Christi, TX. I towed my 23.5' Wellcraft cabin cruiser fully loaded with some of my household items as well as my motorcycle in the bed and the cab loaded with crap. I weighed the truck empy and it came out to 5260lbs fully loaded it was 14180lbs.
I towed at about 70-80MPH in 4th gear. Towed fine no problems and got about 9MPG. On some of the longer steeper hills I had downshift to 3 to hold speed; I could see how this would be very annoying in a mountain area. So I would probably not tow that much weight into the rockies or atleast not at that speed. |
