Re: 700 lb bike in bed? to heavy??
What kind of bike? do you have a crew cab(short bed)? I believe the tailgate can take 300lbs. I wouldn't haul a bike that is too big for the bed, let alone having half the weight on the tailgate. IMO a trailer is what you need if you want to haul it around with the truck.
As long as most of the weight is off the tailgate, you should be fine. Load capacity is 1500 lbs hence 1500 truck. If it's squatting it good, you could get some bags. I had my 700 lb 4-wheeler upt here no problem.

1500 has nothing to do with payload. The Titan is not a 1500. 1500 is just a designation used by truck makers to show what model truck it is. Ford uses F150, Dodge and GM use 1500 to designate 1/2 ton models. To further confuse you, all these trucks handle more than a 1/2 ton. Basically their GVWR's are below 8500lbs. Your door jam or owners manual as well as Nissan's website will tell you the real base payload for your truck.
In the case of the motorcycle, 600lbs is well within the Titans rating. If you properly tie down the bike you should be fine with the factory hooks. If you want more piece of ming you can open the knockouts on the bed rail and used ones available at most autoparts stores. FWIW I have read the tailgate is rated for 500lbs, not 300lbs. It has been posted on this site before. I would not worry about the bike breaking the tailgate as the bulk of it's 600lbs is not on the tailgate alone. Cinch it down good with a bike tiedown kit or good cargo straps and haul away.
the back tire will be about 2" from end of tailgate. so ithought id tie down front real well and then hook some straps to part of the tail gate as well to help keep some pressure off the cable alone just for piece of mind i guess.
Back the bike in, that puts most of the weight in the bed!!

Learn something everyday. I always thought the 1500 series meant it could haul 1500 pounds. Well I will have to look and get my hauling capacity.

A sheet of exterior grade plywood in the bed, that will extend over the tailgate, will help distribute the weight evenly though out the entire bed/tailgate.
ive had 3 230lb 450cc dirtbikes plus gear in mine. not bottomed out at all. you can also turn the bars all the way till steering locks, and tie down against bed. this will move the rear wheel in a little bit forward and off the tailgate. dont worry if the bars are locked it wont move. this actually works better than straight in anyways

Re: 700 lb bike in bed? to heavy??
If the Tail gate actually is rated for 500lbs, then sh!t yeah it will hold. I just estimated 300lbs off the top of my head. The plywood idea is good, or even better, a single 2X6. The full weight of the bike is no problem for the truck. You could haul two of those bad boys.
im curious what the stock hooks in the bed and tailgate weight ratings are? bike weighs in around 692 pounds...
The issue is while loading, there is the bike and you alongside pushing the bike in.
The plywood idea is great and ends any concerns.
The 4 factory hooks will hold that bike all day, ratchet down and enjoy!

Go with the plywood. It's larger surface area will distribute the load more than a single 2x6 or 2x8 or 2x10 or 2x12...

No problem there! I have the same truck as you. I load my Harley Dyna + ramp weight and myself riding it up, all together 850 lbs and never had a problem!!
