how much can I pull

I just bought 2004 titan xe, I have a 24 foot hilo trailer, When I bought the truck I thought it would pull 9100 lbs. I found out it would only pull 6000 lbs. My hilo weighs 3800 lbs empty 4800 fully loaded. Am I in trouble?
If so what can I do to beef the truck up? Thanks

It should pull your trailer with no problem.

big tow package is lower gears, bigger mirrors for towing, tranny temp gauge, and oem hitch. the tranny gauge cant be added but everything else can

I thought us non-BT guys could pull at least 7500lbs ( with the right tires)?

is it tires or gears that keeps the xe at 6500lbs? i put on qx56 wheels and tires, so am i higher than 6500lbs? i have a 5800lb dry travel trailer.

The most significant difference between BT and Non-BT is the lower gears, which adds to the added towing capacity (9400lbs). In answer to the first post, the truck should be fine with those weights.

If you're only towing about 4800-5000 lbs, then no worrys. Make sure you tow in 4th gear(stay out of 5th which is OD) and don't wait for the trans to downshift itself on grades & hills, do it youself ahead of time.
Get a good brake controller, the Prodigy is favored here(I own one and am very happy) but there are others...

From what I read, it was only the tires that limited XE Non BT to 6500 lbs vice 7400 for the SE/LE.

I plan on doing the same upgrade eventually.

is that weight only on the 04 model. the 08 has more power, how much is its max towing capacity?

im new to this soo i dont know ish... when you guys talk about gear.. talking about diff right not tranny ... soo if i change my diff to big tow diff i can tow alot more??..

Those tow numbers i posted were for the 06 and under models.
