Tow Hitch

I recently installed a factory hitch and cannot seem to get my lights on the trailer to work. I followed the instructions that came with the hitch. The only thing i did not do is the connection underneath the dash above the foot pedals, becasue it looked like it was already done.
Any help would be appreciated.

Tow Hitch

Atlasot

As I understand it, the connector up under the dash is for the braking controller. Perhaps, it has an effect on the lights, I don't know.

Have you tried using a voltage tester to check if voltage is at the plug by the hitch when lights, brakes, etc. are applied?

Did you install the relays and check the fuses??

Check this thread for info on where the fuse and relays are.

You need the blue relay installed for trailer lights. You can pick one up at the stealership or online from one of the site sponsors.

However, if you bought the factory/oem hitch it is suppose to come with both relays. You only need the blue one (4 poll) for trailer lights. Also make sure your trailer lights are grounded or they will not work. Good luck! I spent over a week trying to get my trailer lights to work, changing wiring harnesses and even re-wiring the trailer, before I realized the trailer was not grounded.

Get a volt meter and check for voltage at the receptacle by the hitch. If you are not getting a signal at the receptacle, check for a blown fuse.

I am not getting any power to the hitch or 12v outlet in the Bed. I checked the fuse labeled TOW1, which is bottom left on the 2nd row.

If you are good at reading schematics I can send you the wiring diagrams for what you are looking at if that would help.

Check fuses #32 (probably the one you already checked) and #37. Fuse #28 is for the rear power socket, but I don't see any connection to the other problem except for possibly a ground issue.

please help Tow Hitchwiring

I really need help figuring out the wiring on the towing package for the 2005 Nisson Titan. I took it to the dealer and paid 300.00 and assuming they knew what they were doing, it was a while until I hooked up to a trailer that I knew was working on other vehicles. All I get are tail lights. does anyone know the color sequence of what the wiring is? schematic ? I have tailights butno turn, brake , ect.... I have put a voltage meter to it but even that is wrong. I really appreciate your help as you can imagine this is getting frustrating. You can contact me at werhotcpl@yahoo.com
And again thanks to anyone who can help me on this.
