New to the forum with some questions...

Hello everyone! I just joined thid forum, but am not stranger to how a forum work I belong to many others. Just wanted to say hi and I had a couple of towing questions:

I am upgrading my brake controller because the one they put in when I bought my toy hauler sucks. I was thinking of either the tekonsha prodigy or the tekonsha P3? The trailer I tow is a 19' two axle toy box. I do plan on getting a bigger one in a year or two so I am taking that into consideration. Is there any advantages of one or the other? I found the P3 on Ebay for $20.00 more than the prodigy so wasnt sure it is worth the extra money.

The other question is that I am planning on adding some "helper springs" as well but can decide on the helwig units or the super spring units? I searched aroung the forum and only found people talking about the helwigs. Does anybody out there have the supers springs? Are they worth the extra money? I do also plan on lifting my truck in the future so will either of these springs NOT work after I lift my truck or will it not be a problem.

Sorry this is so long, I guess I had more to say than I thought. Well I hope this forum is as friendly and helpfull as some of the other ones I frequent. Thank you in advance for any help.

Chris

Re: New to the forum with some questions...

Welcome to the boards! I think whether any helper springs you get would work after a lift depends on how you lift the back. If it's just blocks in the back, the springs should still work OK. Personally, I'd put bags on it, but that's just me.

As for controllers, I can't speak to the P3, but the Prodigy is used by many on here (including me, I tow a 27 foot TT) with great results.

I have never used the P3. However, I'm very happy with my Prodigy.
