I tow a trailer for my job. My trailer had a bad wiring problem in it which made 3 wires under my hood melt together. Now my break lights aren't working right and when i have the headlights on my trailer brakes are on constanly. i have found this :

2004-05 TITAN, ARMADA, 2005 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER, XTERRA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BODY CONTROL MODULE SUB-HARNESS
Nissan is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. We know that towing a trailer may have been an important consideration in the customer's purchase decision. In new Titan, Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra vehicles, Nissan recently introduced enhanced electronic circuitry which may help further protect a vehicle from damage or fire caused by a short circuit in the electrical system of a towed trailer due to problems with the trailer’s wiring or mis-installation of trailer lighting or electrical accessories. Nissan is making this production enhancement available to owners of previously purchased vehicles so that they will have the same protection should they ever tow a trailer with a defective electrical system.

My father in law owns a mech. shop and thinks the brake situtaion is realated to the Body control unit. i also just had the problem when i push the gas pedal all the way down that i lose alot of power, which i do know that is a tsb on the fuel pump. but do you guys think that the dealership will replace the bcu? i am out of warrently b/c i drive all day in my truck.

what do you guys think?

Re: Ntb05-086

I don't think the BCM can turn on the trailer brakes, that sounds like 2-3 wires burned togather...you'll have to do an old fashioned diagnose & repair for that one...

Try the dealer about the warranty replacement of the BCM for towing, if it's a TSB, then they just might...It's worth a try...
