Re: Towing 21' trailer

Toy hauler have a lot of tongue weight...That trailer could be 1000 lbs easy, doesn't leave much payload left over for driver, passengers and whatever...

35" not the best tow option...

BTW Where did you get the weight numbers?

Re: Towing 21' trailer

It has about 600Lb of tongue weight. the numbers are out of the trailer booklet. and fully loaded it will be about 7500Lb. I have the BT and towing bags on my truck.

I ask because all trailers advertised empty weight is low by about 500-600 lbs, and you can add about 200 of that on the tongue...Trailers are weighed for advertising without any options and totally dry...no propane tanks or propane, batteries, A/C, etc...

Re: Towing 21' trailer

I currently have a wildwood sport le it weighs 7000 empty and about 8500 loaded. The truck pulls it fine, gets about 7mpg. The only problem, and I think its unavoidable, is that in a cross-wind she goes where she goes. This is a factor of the height of the trailer, not the capacity of the truck.

I agree, you should be fine. Just keep it slow. Tow in 4th and don't be afraid to drop it to 3rd when you need it.
