Re: Trying to fig'r if I have big tow package

The Big Tow package has a transmission temperature gauge too, on an '04.
The Off Road package has the front skid plate, also, if it's a May build or latter, (and a 4x4) it will have the e-lock switch down by the tow switch. But earlier '04s didn't get the locker, and '04 2wd Off Road pkg Titans also didn't get the e-lock. All of the Off Road models came with Rancho shocks front and rear too.

Btw, you can download an owner's manual here:http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasit...rs-manuals.php

Pretty sure I have the off road package. I have a skid plate but no e-lock switch. Plus there are "off-road"decals on side of the bed. Shocks look like the have red shock boots.

Re: Trying to fig'r if I have big tow package

2008.5 Tow Pkg.

Heavy-duty battery (710 CCA) — Standard on FFV models
Trailer brake pre-wiring
Additional 7-pin wiring harness
Lower final gear ratio (3.357:1); similar to a 4-speed automatic 4.10:1 ratio
Class IV receiver hitch
Tow hooks (standard on SE, PRO-4X, LE 4x4 models)
Extendable tow mirrors, (not available on XE).

Not part of the 2008.5 Tow Pkg.
Transmission temperature gauge, standard on 2008.5, non-tow Titans, (but not available on XE).
According to nissanusa.com

Re: Trying to fig'r if I have big tow package

So.. if I have the OR package, then then only thing I'm missing from the BT package is the mirrors and trans temp gauge?

I hope to be able to two 8-9K pounds of travel trailer without problems.

Where would I find the pre-wiring for trailer brakes?

For some reason the new Pro 4x non tow pkg Titan is rated at only 7,300 lbs, even though it has the same gears. IDK.
Personaly if I was going to tow 9000 lbs. very often, I'd get a 3/4 ton diesel, especially if mountain towing.

I'd add a tranny temp gauge though even for 7000 lbs.
I think the prewiring is only available with the tow pkg, so you could have that added ... when you buy a brake controler and have it installed.

Re: Trying to fig'r if I have big tow package

Hi all thanks for all of the good information. From this I have discovered I don't have the big tow, I do have the offroad package and the factory hitch, however I can't find the prewiring harness plug under the dash, so I guess my question is how would I go about wiring my brake controller. I was stoked because I bought the piggytail adapter from my dealer and had it wired to the controller, I thought I was almost done. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Trying to fig'r if I have big tow package

Hey, I am a little confused...I am not sure if I have the BT pckg or not. It is a 04 CC LE, and has the tow mirrors, the tranny guage, but on the sticker inside the door it says it has the 2.94 gear ratio. I thought that the BT has the 3.34 or whatever it is. Anyways any help would be great.

2004-2007 had a trans temp gauge if BT...IF those years don't have that gauge, then it's not BT.
Someone could add the mirrors, or hitch, but the gauge is the tell-tale...
If you have the Off-Road package, then you would have the same gears(3.337) as BT.
