Shouldn't be a problem. Trailer weight is probably around 1500 lbs, gutted car? I don't know, around 3k? That's around 5000 lbs. You don't mention whether you have the towing option on your truck, but if that's close to the weight you're going to tow it wouldn't be a problem anyway.

Re: Possible?

It's a titan, sure it will tow what you mentioned just don't try to put the Brady Bunch in the cab and start filling the truck bed with a lot of weight......All that goes into account when towing/hauling...
Common sense is #1.....

Good Luck....

Re: Possible?

I dont have any tow options on the truck besides the tow mode that I believe all Titans have. The curb weight on a stock Civic is 2,178, not sure if it falls much under that or not since the motor swap may have added the weight back. Reason I really ask is bout six years ago I had the car hauled from Dallas back to Arlington and it seemed like it was working the hell out of the truck, its was on of those 2500HD that Chevy makes.

Re: Possible?

Yea you'll notice some extra wieght, but you shouldn't have any trouble with it, probably less then 5K, even without bigtow.

The GM 2500's of six yrs. ago are weak compared to a titan....I drove several GM 2500's(5.7 gas engine) about 6 yrs. ago and know the titan will out perform them...
Technology has come a long way in 6 yrs..
The titans drivetrain is lightyears ahead of those trucks...
2200 lbs. and the trailer will not phase a titan....Even without the tow package...

Good Luck...

Re: Possible?

Old news to those that follow this forum, but maybe new to you...Tow in 4th gear, and if hitting hills/grades don't be afraid to drop it down to 3rd all by your self...

Re: Possible?

Re: Possible?

If you drive truck, then you already know...give yourself extra room and watch out for others...

BTW...If you have the stock tires, make sure you air them up to(but not over) their max rated pressure, this stiffens up the sidewalls for a less flex which can make the rear of the truck kind of feel like it's floating a little to each side...
