im looking to have a 2.5" single in/dual 2.25" out magnaflow muffler with 3" tips out the back. will this echo off my camper? its a 28ft cherokee travel trailer. pulled by 04 xe crewcab hope this gives it more power. my do the intake box mod also. just wondering if straight out the back will echo or if i should come out the sides behind the tires. i like the look of the rear exit better than the side exit. thanks scott
I was with you on the rear exit until I saw another member's dual out to-the-side setup. Now that looks SWEET. Like wings coming out past the rear tires spewing hp in the face of people you pass.

I have read where people who have done the rear exit on SUV's and van's have had issues. Might not be as bad with the bed as a buffer on a pickup. I can say that I don't see many people who tow often having rear exits. One other thing you might want to thin about is you will be getting blasted by hot exhaust and CO every time you work at your hitch when hooking up or unhooking.
Personal opinion is rear exits don't look good to me. Better off with one larger diameter pipe set up for free flow or for looks 2 side exits like mentioned above.
redneck, finally someone to ask. is it louder with the camper hooked up? thats the question.
nissan mike, do you have more pics of where your tips exit?

Like someone else hit on, if you are going to be towing a camper, you are better off to go with side exit exhaust. if you have to back the trailer in and need to cut sharp to manuveur it in to a place, you risk your trailer catching on the exhaust pipe if it is a rear exit setup. I know I have had to manuveur my trailer a few times to the point to where I had to get my truck perpendicular to the trailer, not quite jack-knife, but just at 90* to get the trailer to cut into the space, if I would have had rear exit exhaust on my truck, i would have definitely damaged the tailpipe in the process. I still have stock exhaust right now, but I am going to install a Flowmaster 40 series with dual out at the sides.

Reason: misspelled word

I will also add that rear exits also spray black soot all over what ever you are towing every time you start the truck.
i stayed with small 3" stainless steel tips. so hopefully rust wont be a issue for a while.
