Fuse help

My 08 Nissan Titan w/ Big Tow keeps blowing the fuse for the right/left trailer turn. This is also the same circut for trailer brake lights. The fuse is located in the hood. My old POS truck never blew this fuse. I thought maybe something was wrong with the wiring under the trailer but did not see anything. Also the truck blew the fuse since the first camping trip i went with it, while the other truck never did. Sorry for the long post and thanks for your suggestions.

If it only blows when the trailer is hooked up, it's the trailer...Most light issues are the trailer, and many of those are ground problems...
Check the trailer plug on the trailer...

Thanks for the reply. Why does it do this with my Titan but not my previous vehicle? What should i look for in the trailer plug?

Hard to say, boat trailers sit most of the winter, get corrosion in the plug & wires and you plug in and "poof"...
First take a look at the trailer plug by pulling it apart to inspect were the wires go into the socket, are any touching each other?...

If that's all good, follow them (the wires)as they go down along the trailer, looking for possible damage causing a short...Also, did you change bulbs recently? maybe installing the wrong bulb, or installing it incorrectly?

The trailer is actually a Springdale Camper. I have not replaced any bulbs recently and I followed the wires from the junction box all the way back and found nothing. I will try to look in the actual plug itself. Thanks for the help. Any ideas if I see nothing in the plug? I just find it hard to beleive that the Nissan blew the fuse since day 1 but no problem with other vehicles.

Could you have maybe had a higher amp fuse for that circuit on the last truck? That would explain it...than and just sitting. Just thinking out loud here.

Are you saying the brake lights NEVER worked from the very first time the trailer was plugged in?
Have you used a test light to see if there is power to the brake/turn at the trucks 7 pin connecter?
What is the rating for those fuses? There should be one, rated at 15 amps..Fuse #60

Traced the problem to that fuse. I keep having to replace the fuse and the fuse does not stay good for very long. It is just wierd that it never hapend in my other TV which was a 04 chubby 1/2 ton. Just wondering if anyone else has had or heard about this.

All you are lighting up is 2 brakelight bulbs, 15 amps should be more then needed...

I would plug in the trailer, remove both trailer turn/brake bulbs and then run the flashers for awhile to see if the fuse blows...or block the brake pedal to keep the brake lights on. Check the bulb sockets for corrosion also...
There is no reason that fuse should keep blowing, and the fact that it only blows when the trailer is hooked up tells me it's still the trailer.
And "no" Titans aren't known for this problem...

Thanks for the all of the help. I pulled the wire apart today, (the part that plugs into the camper,) and i had a wire that was not connected. You guessed it, it was the wire for the flashers. Pugged everything back in and I'm good to go. Thanks again for the replies
