Smell Coolant After Towing

I got a new travel trailer. I have a 2007 SE 4x4 with the tow package. The trailer weight is well within the towing specs. After I tow the trailer, I can smell coolant. Even when I tow slow and a short distance, I can smell coolant when I stop. The engine and transmission temps both read normal.

I looked and can not see or feel any leaks and I can't tell by sniffing where the source is.

I never smell it otherwise. I always park in the garage, so I should definitely smell it in there other times.

Anyone else have this problem or any ideas?

i had this a very similiar problem with my 05. i had 38k miles on it and if i drove it hard at all i would smell it too. my problem was the radiator cap. not the pressurized res. cap but the cap on the radiator. pop your hood and after warming it up, floor it a couple of times and see if any fluid pushes through the cap. i replaced my cap and have had no added problems. good luck.

Well a new radiator cap sounds like it'd definitely be an easy fix and in my budget even. bottlfed, did you go with an aftermarket cap?

its probably going to be a dealer item. Autozone doesnt even show a cap on the radiator existing when i had the same problem. Dealer said the tank was leaking and changed the whole radiator. It was the cap....Figure that one out. thread on rad.

Radiator cap has issues when towing or the motor is under a load for long durations. Cheap design and a known problem in the Titan community. Some get it fixed by the dealer, or order a new one online. I ordered the NISMO version that is supposed to be a step above the stocker.

It's your radiator cap. I had the same ting happen to me at 30K miles. Dealer should replace it for free.
