Re: Lake powell

Shouldn't have much trouble at all. Have fun at the lake, I'll be there in June.

Re: Lake powell

Towing won't be an issue but PLEASE CHECK WAYNESWORDS.COM for information on Quagga mussels and mussel free certification before you head out to Lake Powell. It is very simple to clean your boat beforehand and will save you time when you get there as you will not be allowed to launch without it being clean. This information is geared toward anyone heading to Lake Powell. I'll be there on Tuesday!!! woohoo! Have fun and a safe trip!

I think I read that it will be open soon. I hope to be out there in late June. I might take time out of my Moab trip the hit the lake to cool off!!

Re: Lake powell

I am jealous. Havent been there since the early 90's, went three years in a row and was a blast. I remember being there for 2 weeks and never got bored. Have fun and enjoy the lake and your tow out there.

Re: Lake powell

How heavy is your boat? I tow mine all over New Mexico, but it's only 2500lbs. I also tow my TT through these mountains, and it's 8000lbs. if it's heavy just tow it in 4th and don't be afraid to drop it down into 3rd pulling some of the bigger mountains. Here's a link to Lake Powells water levels http://graphs.water-data.com/lakepowell/index.php

Re: Lake powell

The boat is a 32' Sunsation on a tri-axle trailer with brakes on all 3 axles. Loaded weight is 8600 with little fuel in the tank. Hitch weight right at 700lbs. Using one of the new Reese 1100 lb. PRO SC WD hitches to satisfy Nissan hitch requirements. Will also have Roadmasters on by then. It's a fairly easy tow as I used to pull it around the country with my 1990 Chevy 454 SS truck. The low profile results in little wind resistance and no sway at any speed. The tri-axle trailers really make the rigs very stable.
I have a 2007 KC with big tow. The titan has a much longer wheelbase and about equal on torque. I have towed through the Qzark hills on I44 ok. Just wanted to know how I40 is out west and if anyone had experiences at lake Powell.

Thanks
