tow w/o big tow

i bought my 04 cc le about a month ago and i was planning on towing my show truck to the long distance shows. ive been reading around here for about an hour and im pretty sure i dont have the tow package, a couple dead givaways: no hitch, no tow mirrors, dont know what the tranny gauge looks like but im pretty sure i dont have it, also not sure what the gear ratio is, but i do have the tow button.

so my question is will i be able to tow my show truck with trailer to shows with out any problems. the truck is a 01 chevy s-10 2.2l with allot of suspension work, i cant imagine that the truck would way more than 4000 lbs.

thanks in advance.....

Re: tow w/o big tow

the non tow package is rated for 7400 lbs or so, so measure that up against your truck and trailer. 4000 lb truck, 1500 lb trailer say, you should be good.

Re: tow w/o big tow

Since you have an 04, check your Diff Cover to see if it has been upgraded to the Finned version. It will keep you cooler, and is an indication your lube has been changed from 80W-95 to the 75W-140 Synthetic now recommended for all Titans. Cover is available from dealer, I HIGHLY recommend you do that. The load you propose sounds fine, but upgrade the cover and oil.

04 had some failures of rears, Nissan covered them, past normal warranty. Check with your dealer.

Congrats on buying a Titan. Show some Pics of both trucks when you can, sounds interesting.

TitanBlue's advice is good. Follow it and you should be fine.

Re: tow w/o big tow

Good advise on rear cover and lube...

Get the factory hitch package, it will come with not only the hitch, but the bolts, and relays needed for the lights.

If you're still running the factory "P" rated tires to air them up to their max pressure while towing.

Enjoy!

Depending on what year you have, if you have a 04-07 the dead give away is the Trans temp gauge in the instrument cluster
