WOW What a truck!

So I bought a 2008.5 Titan KC LE last weekend (4-19-08) and yesterday (4-26-08) I towed my Jeep 2 hours downstate to go attend an off-road event. I calculated the total weight at just over 6,000lbs (2000 trailer and ~4000 Jeep) It towed it with easy!!!

This was by far the heaviest load i've ever pulled and it was a breeze. The computer tells me that I averaged 10.9mpg on the 195 miles most of which were (55-65 MPH) highway. The truck has less than 600 miles so I am pleased with the MPG so far. I will be changing the oil next weekend.

Yea I did a bunch of searching on the web and could really find one way or the other. When it comes down to it everyone has their own opinion and I may or may not have problems with my Titan and the 200 miles I towed will probably have nothing to do with it.

I am planning to change the oil this weekend which will be about 800 miles.

i agree, im just stating what it says in the owners manuel. in my opinion once you get the truck you should drive it like you will everyday.

Re: WOW What a truck!

You might want to stay away from "down state". It got your jeep all dirty.

Seriously though. These things tow like monsters. I used to tow my father's trailer with a 49 Studebaker Champ, tools, chairs, BBQ, etc. to his antique car rallies when he got too sick to drive his motor home. My Titan replaced a 3/4 ton Chevy with the towing package and the Titan towed much better. Now all I have to tow is a couple of small boats.

It sure did!!! I spent 5 hours yesterday just cleaning the inside and undercarriage. I still have to clean the mud out from inside and put two coats of wax on it.

Thanks for all the compliments on the rig I am pleased with the Titan and the Jeep!

Re: WOW What a truck!

That is how a Jeep is suppose to look!!!

I am surprised you anly got 10mpg. I know you had some weight but you don't have a lot of wind drag. well as compaired to TT. Mt TT weighs a little more than your load I get 11mpg average.

Then again your truck isn't broke in yet, you might grab a few MPG in the future.

Re: WOW What a truck!

I AGREE WOW WHAT A TRUCK
i have had my titan for two years got it april 2006 as a left over and i did not have big tow but the deal was good so i got pretty much the truck i wanted.
the dealer told me other than mirrors trans temp gauge and bigger batt. and low gear ratio. it will tow fine. though then i only had a 2000 pound pop up camper to tow which was like nothing compared to my 2002 frontier sc (over rated)mid size. however last thursday i picked up 2008 33 ft 6000 pound emty 10 ft high travel trailer camper about 180 miles from home. i did purchase a reese weight distubution hitch.THIS TRUCK IS A ANIMAL i pulled big mt.s at over 65mph even as high as 70mph awsome . i tell friends that think of my titan as a toy get your chevy hd 6.0 liter out and let me show you something.
