Trailer lights

I hooked the u haul up to the truck bout to move, and the only light working is the left turn signal. I checked the fuse it is good. The u haul guy probed it with this pointer that lights up if it is good or bad sorry not very mechanical. The top hole lights up which is the left blinker but the right and brake light and lights don't light up what should i check next.

Where should I start...Oh yeah What year is your truck?
The batteries went out in my Cyrstel Ball...

Are you sure you checked all the fuses?
You might have a couple of fuses right out of the Body Control Module also...

Re: Trailor lights

Does your truck have the factory tow package?

There was a recall for part of the tow harness, you need to check for fuses inline below the steering column, behind the plastic...See the diagram.

Re: Trailor lights

do you have all your relays? did you have the BCM recall performed? Is the Uhaul trailer grounded at both lights? then check underthe dash board and have nissan check it. let us know what was the cause.

Re: Trailor lights

Is it just me, or is this like the 10th time in the last few weeks with "no lights" thread topics?......

Do we need a "sticky" to cover basic trailer light diagnoses?

Re: Trailor lights

Sounds like a good idea to me since I just spent the day testing fuses (finding none blown) and if I had not stumbled onto this thread while searching for a solution would still probably be scratching my head. Thanks to Loufish for posting of the wiring diagram for the "04 an the bit about the two fuses under the dash no where near the trailer brake connector. One is for left side and the other is right side turn & brake signal. When they blow you got only running lights on the trailer but everything works on the truck.

So btw. If you got the fuses under the dash does that mean the recall has or has not been performed? Thanks again.

The two fuses are located in a small sub-harness that goes in between the BCM and the the original trailer wire harness from the BCM....Yes if the fuses/harness is there, the TSB has been completed...
