Re: new to towing

Without the tow package you are technically going to pull more than you should. You will need to add relays to the wiring (they plug in) to get all the electrical working right (turn signals, etc).

You will need a heavier duty drop ball mount than the regular duty versions due to your lift and the weight of your trailer. Most drop ball mounts are only rated for 500 lbs tongue weight but the heavier duty ones are good for 750 lbs or more.

Re: new to towing

You will be pushing it big time with the lift and non big tow gears, I'm pulling 5500 with the same set up but would not pull any more.

Re: new to towing

Welcome...

Now the bad news...without the tow gears, you're tow rating is only 7200 lbs, and that's with 32" stock sized tires...I'm guessing you went to 35" tires with your 6" lift...if so then your tow rating went down from that.

The rest is easy, a factory hitch kit is the way to go, it comes with all the extra tow relays needed for trailer lights, the 7 pin connecter and mounting bracket and even the correct metric bolts to mount the hitch on the frame...

Don't blame the Titan, most 1/2 ton trucks without a tow package are at about that rating or less...

Re: new to towing

You'll need to look at 19'-24' Ultra-Lites. They are made out of aluminum and fiberglass instead of wood and aluminum siding. They cost a bit more than the aluminum skin TT's.

I can honestly tell you, there's no way you can comfortably tow that weight of a TT with the little-Tow gears.
