Question about towing

Hey everyone!

I am going to make a trip up to lake meade in a few weeks and I was wondering if my truck will be ok.

Recently, I have installed a 6 inch lift and 3 in body with 35's.

I was curious to know if my truck will be ok to tow my boat which is about 5,500 pounds.

I use to be able to tow it and not even realize that I was carrying extra baggage.

Will I be alright? or anything that I will need to do?

-thank you

Re: Question about towing

A lower drop hitch...

Do you have the big tow package? If so, keep an eye on the tranny temp. gauge..

You should be OK if you have towed it before...

Happy towing!

Re: Question about towing

You'll feel the 35"s, but should still be able tow it...Boats tow much better then other trailers because the "slice" the wind instead of acting like a sail....
Don't be afraid of shifting down to 3rd, and don't tow in 5th, tow in 4th...

Re: Question about towing

Not sure how much of a drop you need for your hitch but if it turns out you need a 10" I have a 10" Alumistinger drop hitch for sale with a 2" ball and Masterlock locking pin. I used it on my Tacoma that was lifted but just traded that in on a new Titan so I dont need it anymore. The hitch itself new is about $90, plus the ball and the lock. If you are interested shoot me a PM and we can work something out.
