Re: Ok my head is spinning with towing questions!!!!

I've been towing my 30' TT just fine and love it. I bought my Equal-i-zer setup and Prodigy kit from RV Wholesalers. I've adjusted my WD setup to be very agressive. I have all the washers on the support bolt and moved my Bar Brackets up to the second from bottom hole. I push the Tow Mode button, shift into 4th and away I go. I have shifted down to hold 3rd or 2nd for climbing or descending a couple of steep hills but no big deal.

Yea, it's not a diesel but I don't need a 3/4-ton for my DD and this puppy pulls really nice IMHO. From what I've seen, the 3/4-ton gassers don't seem to be much better but I could be wrong. I'd have to agree with Buddha and say take that hitch back for a full refund and get one that actually works. I don't see any reason why a Titan shouldn't be able to pull that TT with just the proper hitch and brake controller setup.

Re: Ok my head is spinning with towing questions!!!!

I just upgraded from an '07 KC no BT to an '09 CC with Utility Package. I have a 29 foot travel trailer with a GVWR of 7500 lbs. I have the Reece Dual cam weight distributing set up. I had some scary moments with the '07 before I had the hitch set up correctly. Just before I traded the '07 I finally got it right. I test drove a '09 Chevy 2500 KC 4x4 with the tow package. I was not really impressed with it. I felt solid compared to my '07, but was noticeably slower. It had the 6.0 which has more HP and torque but at 1000 higher RPM. For the same money I bought the '09 Titan which felt just as solid as the Chevy and is a CC. I towed with the new Titan this past week and it was a noticeable improvement. It stayed locked in overdrive (4th) much longer that the '07. It pulls from a stop easier too. The mirrors are also a big help. I noticed that I was getting 10 mpg towing where I was getting 8 mpg with the '07. I think the Titan can tow just about every kind of travel trailer out there with the exception of some large Toy Haulers and 5th wheels as long as you are within the weight limit guidelines. I would put the Titan against just about any other 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton out there towing my trailer with the exception of one powered by a diesel.
