Yesterday on ebay I picked up a prodigy brake control. I have a BT truck and the wiring harness is in the glove box so it should be no problem right? I found a website with the wiring diagram for our tucks as well.
Red.... Black.... +12 Volts
Red with Green Tracer... Red... Stoplight
Black... White... Ground
Brown with White Tracer... Blue... Trailer Brakes
Red with Blue Tracer... NA... Illumination
Does this look right? So how easy is this to hook up? I pretty much DIY everything that I can. Where did everyone mount theres? Do you have pics?
Thanks

Are you in a hurry to install this? If you're not, order the adapting harness online. It'll plug right in to both your truck, and your controller and makes it a very clean, worry-free install. I mounted mine sort of over the OBDII port, right by my right knee.

No not really in a hurry. I saw that they offered that on there website. I dont mind splicing and hiding though in an effort to save a little $. Yours looks great. Do you hit your knee at all? Im 6' 2" so this was one thing i was worried about.

I don't hit it, but I'm not that tall. My suggestion would be just to use some blue masking tape to tape something of similar size there and see how it works for you.

My Prodigy is on all the time. No worries. It powers off automatically after the ignition is shut off, so it's not draining anything while the truck isn't running.

My prodigy has one red LED on all the time. I only left it there for a few minutes. Will it turn off eventually? I suppose I could read the manual again. ;o)
I just installed mine last night and I used the wiring harness. The hardest part was finding the connector under the dash labeled electric brake. If you are looking at a 2008.5, then you will find it up pretty high on the driver’s side close to the door. I hope that makes sense.
+2 on the harness. My local trailer hitch place had it on the wall in stock. I ordered it from etrailer.com.
Is it ok to leave the Prodigy connected all the time!?
...also...
+1 on the harness. Plug and play...installed in literally 2 mins. 1 min spent deciding where to mount the controller.
Yes. The entire time I had it (about a year) it was plugged in. Glad to see it worked out for you. Normally the harness is an additional $10, you got a smokin' deal LOL.
Got the controller tonight and got the wires taken care of and i will mount it tomorrow. Still trying to figure out the best place to mount it. I want it as much out of the way as possible. So Im looking at mounting it to the little metal cross beam thats just beyond the plastic under the dash and put it right next to the obd port. If that doesnt look like its going to pan out it will have to be mounted to the bottom of the plastic next to the obd port. I'll try to finish the install and snap a couple pics when im done. Thanks for all help guys.

I put mine in a similar place to Carbeaux, but a bit different. I am 6'1" and NEVER hit it, but can adjust it easily. See the pics on the TitanTalk photo gallery located below.
mines like shoffmans. and im 6'4" and no problems. also i thought it was suppose to be installed level.

It can be installed up to a 70° angle, if my memory of the user's manual is accurate. That's another of the features that makes the Prodigy so user friendly.

So it looks like i installed mine similar to other TT members. The most important thing to me was for it to be out of the way. It looks great and its denfinitly out of the way. Oh ya Mellowyellow had metioned the led being on all the time, is that the way its suppose to be? Carbeaux you said "My Prodigy is on all the time. No worries. It powers off automatically after the ignition is shut off, so it's not draining anything while the truck isn't running." My brake control stays the same if the T is on or off. LED light is always on. So how do i know if it has powered off? Sorry not trying to beat a dead horse or anything.
Anyway here is a couple thumbnail pics. Still dont know how to enlarge the pics in the thread, oh well.
