Theft deterrent system issues?

Today when I took my son to school, I pulled into the parking space, turned off the truck, and took the key out of the ignition as normal. As soon as I removed the key, the alarm went off (horn honking, etc). while i was still in the truck. Also, I usually leave my key in the truck at night when I park it in my garage. However, the other day when I started to leave, the doors were locked with my key in the ignition. The other key is put up and never gets used. And lastly, about a month ago, I was getting ready for a bass tournament at about 4:30 A.M. I had the truck unlocked with the passenger door open while I loaded some things inside. All of a sudden the alarm starts blaring. Any ideas what may be causing this or am I doing something to set the alarm system off?

Re: Theft deterrent system issues?

I agree with Derwud, I think it is probably a bad remote....

Re: Theft deterrent system issues?

I used my remote to unlock a Dodge truck once. When the lady saw her Lights flashing and me standing there with a WTF look on my face she asked if I had a Nissan... She said that it has happened more than once and it was always a Nissan remote!

Re: Theft deterrent system issues?

I already switched remotes to the spare. Another thing that seems odd is that occasionally, out of nowhere, when I am running the a/c or vent, the air starts blowing like the setting is on high. Then it goes back to normal. Weird, huh? I guess I'll take it in to the shop tomorrow. I have already taken it in once for the a/c thing and they "could not duplicate" the problem. I guess if it catches on fire I can start over from scratch. I just hope my fishing gear isn't inside.
