Timbren owners, I have a quick question for you!!!

I noticed my Timbrens are loose on the mounting pad. I tighten them down pretty good, but there is @ 1/8" gap or play between the rubber and the base plate. It appears the bolt acts like it has bottomed out, even though it has only gone @ 95% thru the thread part of the base plate. Is this normal??

Thanks!

The ones on my Fronty are tight. Did you get the washers in the right spot?

The instruction don't even show the washer. Since it was inside the Timbren hollow area, I figured that is where it should go. Even if it was on the bottom it would not make a difference, it would still be loose. I guess I will have to call them. I cranked down on them pretty good, and the thread would not go thru the very last part of the base plate. Thus, leaving it a little loose, which can't be good with all the axle movement.

Nah, something isn't right. I bolted mine up and cranked down on them to get the bolt good and tight...

Problem solved with bigger wrench. The threads must act like a lock nut. Got it good and tight now.

Thanks

Re: Timbren owners, I have a quick question for you!!!

took a couple of pictures with the tire off. It was easier to tighten it down to base plate with the tire off. I jacked the truck up by the frame on one side, hence the big space to work with.

not yet

My Tongue weight is 700 lbs, so when I put the Generator in the bed and load up 4 passengers I am about 500 lbs over my max payload. The Timbrens should take care of that. Normally, it is just the two of us and I am ok. I was looking for some help on those few heavy trips and this should work.

I'll report back in a few weeks when I get to pull the travel trailer again.

Edit: First trip postponed due to expected flooding rains in LA.

I'll let you know how it goes when I finally get to try them out.

Finally, got to tow my travel trailer with my Timbrens installed.

I filled up the water tank so I would have my max tongue weight of just under 800 lbs. The ride with the load was firmer, like a 3/4 ton truck, but not harsh. The truck doesn't squat as much and it seems more stable in the rear.

So far so good, will put more miles this weekend.

Re: Timbren owners, I have a quick question for you!!!

You could get the spacers if you want it to sit higher in the rear...I sure liked mine!
