Need help with towing.

Hey guys as some of you may have seen my truck on the other posts its pretty big, I have something to ask, Im running a 17' lift on 40' tires how do you think my towing will be? Im going to pull a zieman 8x10 flat bed trailer with a rhino loaded on to it. Im wanting to know if my tires and lift will have a huge impact on my towing smoothnies of the ride swirvie etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Re: Need help with towing.

so how's the perfomance now?.....

Tow in 3rd gear, if you have the tow gears at 60 mph you should be running about 2600 rpm...

You just had to have the tallest truck....too late now to worry about if it will actually perform....

Yea I guess I had to try and make my truck as tall as possible, and then think about towing.
My biggest worrie was, will the truck and trailer not be staible on the road? I just thought if the truck is so big I might have the trailer going side to side? Should I do airbags? Also I see your in Burbank, hit me up sometime for a pismo or glamis trip. Will caravan together I havent been to either place in over 6 months.

Re: Need help with towing.

I'm pretty sure those 40" tires are going to be a nightmare. The sidewall flex is going to have you fishtailing all over the place. Airbags won't fix that. I have no idea how heavy the load your talking about, but if it's more than 4000, I bet your in for a-hell-of-a-ride.

Re: Need help with towing.

you will be fine. just get a pretty big drop hitch. i had 38.5's on and pulled a 16ft flatbed with a 5800-6000lb john deere tractor on. the rhino weighs about 12-1700lbs. you will be fine. try and find a 10-12" drop. i have a 6x10ft trailer i pull my honda rincon with and i have had it up to about 85 or so and no issues at all on my 37 boggers.

Re: Need help with towing.

Airbags probably won't help your towing performance a great deal but will help with droop if anything.

Well it should not have much of a drop with towing 3000 pounds. There is no point of getting airbags?

So you believe if I get a correct size drop down hitch and level the trailer out completely straight I should be fine with having no sway?

Thats all Im worried about, I hate having to fishtail and to be totally honest it just freaks me out on the road and ruins my whole trip.
