Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

Just trying to get more input from you guys on which setting you use on your Cortex while towing? From what I saw there is no mention if the 87 tune is safe to tow with or not--Thanks Much

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

I'm extremely wealthy so I run 91 oct fuel....

Ok...not so wealthy, but I do run 91 for the most power to which I've become addicted to...so I run the 91 oct Tow Tune...tows great!

Don't have any other info for you...sorry...

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

If I am towing local I don't bother to switch the tune from 87 to the tow. If I am going to haul a distance then I will switch to the tow tune. It's shift pionts seem to be better with the tow tune. I am hauling 4,000 to 6,000lbs.

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

hey guys, thanks for the input, I think I will try the 91 tow tune--Thing is I get 87 for free so a little more expensive then just the differance between.

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

The last time I used the tow tune I ran 87. Never heard any spark knock or anything.

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

I usually use the Light Tow tune except for trips to/from storage and haven't noticed a difference between 87 or 91 oct so I just usually run 87.

Light Tow? On my Cortex I have the following options:

87 Mileage XS
87 Performance Tune
91 Tow Tune
91 Performance Tune

Where are you getting all of these other options?....

Re: Which Setting on Cortex For Towing

"Light Tow" is the same as the Tow Tune. Maybe it depends on which update you're on, I haven't updated in awhile.
